Orange County
Avalon Park is a master-planned traditional neighborhood in east Orange County built around a genuine town center, surrounded by the wider Alafaya corridor and its gated townhome communities. It has been one of the metro's stronger five-year price performers.

The detail
More about Alafaya and Avalon Park
The town center model
Avalon Park was designed so that shops, restaurants, schools and parks sit within walking distance of the housing rather than out on an arterial. The result is a downtown of its own with a regular events calendar. Housing runs from townhomes through detached single family, with alley-loaded garages on much of the older stock.
UCF and the research corridor
The University of Central Florida and the surrounding research park are immediately north, which underpins both the rental market and steady owner-occupied demand. Note that a major energy employer is relocating its regional headquarters from the research park to Lake Nona, which shifts some commuting demand south over the next few years.
Getting around
SR-408 runs west into downtown Orlando and SR-417 connects north and south. The Waterford Lakes retail area sits between Avalon Park and the 408 interchange.
