Lake County

Eustis sits on the north shore of Lake Eustis in the Harris Chain of Lakes, with a clock tower downtown, a working waterfront and ranch-style housing stock. It is one of the last places in Central Florida where lake frontage is genuinely attainable.

More about Eustis

The Harris Chain of Lakes

Eustis sits on a connected chain of lakes that runs through Lake County and eventually to the St. Johns River. For anyone who actually uses a boat, that connectivity is the point: you can run for hours without trailering. Waterfront here prices far below comparable frontage closer to Orlando.

Housing stock

The inventory skews toward mid-century ranch homes on generous lots, with a historic core near downtown and newer subdivisions on the outskirts. Inspections matter here: on homes of this vintage, roof age, electrical panels and original plumbing are the recurring issues.

Downtown and the trade-off

Downtown Eustis is compact and genuinely used, with a waterfront park, a bandshell and a clock tower at the center. Be clear-eyed about the commute: this is Lake County, and reaching central Orlando is a real drive. Buyers who are honest with themselves about how often they will make that trip are the ones who stay happy here.
